Getting Your Florida Department of Education Teaching Certificate
In order to be eligible for a Professional Teaching Certificate from the Florida Department of Education (FLDOE), you must:
- Successfully pass all sections of the Florida Teacher Certification Exam (FTCE).
- GKT passed for admission to BS and EPI Programs:
- ECE- must pass Birth to Age 4 AND Age 3 to Grade 3
- ESE- in addition to the ESE SAE, must take and pass an additional discipline area(i.e., elementary education, reading, middle school science)
- Math Ed- must pass Math Ed exam
- Bio Ed- must pass Bio exam
- EPI- must pass area stated on the Statement of Status of Eligibility
- Professional Test- must be passed to do student teaching/internship/field experience
- GKT passed for admission to BS and EPI Programs:
- Successfully pass all coursework and requirements, including all clinical hours, with a minimum grade of āCā and earn a minimum overall GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.
