Main Pool FAQ’s

• Olympic Size Pool: 50 meters x 25 yards; 4ft-8ft deep.
• Contains 500,915 gallons of chemically treated & filtered water.
• Operated/Controlled by networked, industry leading computer software.

Dive Well FAQ’s

• Pentagon Shaped Pool: 7ft-16ft deep.
• We have 1, 1-meter springboards; 1, 3-meter springboard, 1, 5-meter dive platform & 1, 10-meter platform.
• Contains 301,136 gallons of chemically treated & filtered water.
• Operated/Controlled by a networked, industry leading computer software. 
• Chemicals are automatically fed into the pool as needed 24 hours a day.
• The pool is also filtered 24 hours a day.

Sanitation & Facility FAQ’s

• We employ Certified Pool Operators on site daily that check the chemical feeds and filtration systems approximately every 2 hours during our operating hours. 
• Chlorine is our sanitizing agent, which is used 24/7 to maintain levels of cleansing that are above the industry standard.  This helps us provide maximum protection against bacteria and germs in both pools.
• Each pool operates with their own filtration and chemical feed system that are separate from one another and run 24/7.
• The pool deck, interior surfaces of both pools and gutters are cleaned regularly for our patrons to enjoy a sparkling clean swimming experience, each time they visit. 

Lifeguarding FAQ’s

• All lifeguards are Red Cross certified and train regularly to provide excellency in health and safety precautions.
• The facility never operates with less than 3 lifeguards at any given time and often has up to 5 or 6 lifeguards working depending on our scheduled activities. 
• Ensuring the facility is well staffed is one of the most important aspects in providing superior monitoring of swimmers to prevent accidents, while also delivering the appropriate rescue responses, if need be. 
• Our well-trained lifeguard staff is instrumental in providing the best overall experience by making certain the health code is followed through rule enforcement.

Membership & Facility Rental Information

To access the Aquatic Center, you must either rent/reserve lanes as an external organization or obtain an aquatic membership. Only currently enrolled MDC credit & non-credit students, active employees (faculty/staff/administrator) and FT MDC retirees may obtain memberships. Program Information

Currently, we offer American Red Cross swimming lessons for children and adults. We’re looking to provide additional aquatic programs to include MDC Shark Swim Club, American Red Cross Life guarding (LG) and Water Safety Instructor(WSI), PADI SCUBA, water aerobics, plus more!
