Fermin Vazquez
North Campus President
Fermin Vazquez is a respected leader with more than 25 years of combined experience in higher education, K-12 public schools, and the private sector. He has played a key role in enhancing campus operations, overseeing facilities management, fiscal planning, grant administration, and large-scale projects. Previously, he served as the Dean of Administration/Senior Director of Campus Administration at North, Padron, and Wolfson Campuses, where he was responsible for campus-wide services and served as the Campus Incident Crisis Management Commander. He also managed the administration of the Carrie P. Meek Entrepreneurship Education Center in Liberty City and the Aventura Center, that focused on expanding academic outreach into our communities.
Now serving as President of Miami Dade College’s North Campus, Mr. Vazquez is focused on operational efficiencies that meet and exceed targeted goals. With a strong commitment to accountability, he ensures that institutional resources are effectively managed while fostering an environment of transparency and excellence. He is dedicated to advancing academic and career pathways that empower students for success in today’s evolving workforce. Through strategic partnerships, apprenticeships, and innovative academic programs, he ensures that students gain the knowledge and training needed to thrive in competitive industries. His mission is to bridge education and industry, providing students with long-term career success while championing faculty initiatives and community collaborations that enhance academic excellence and workforce readiness.
A proud alumnus of Miami Dade College, President Vazquez understands firsthand the transformative power of education. He earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from Florida International University and his MBA from Nova Southeastern University. He is a strong advocate of Miami Dade College’s motto: “Opportunity Changes Everything.”
