The I-9 form is to verify your identity and your eligibility for employment. After you apply, you will receive a letter in the mail from the Department of Elections with your training time and location. In that letter, you will also receive an I-9 form. You should complete the I-9 form before attending their training session.
On page 1 of the I-9 form, you will fill out Section 1. Employee Information and Attestation with the information it requests. To fill out Section 2, you need ONE form of documentation from List A, or if you do not have any of the documentation from List A, then you must present TWO forms of documentation, one from List B AND one from List C. The list of acceptable documentation to fill out Section 2 can be found on Page 2 of the I-9 form. Using these document(s), the Department of Elections will complete the information requested in Section 2.
YOU MUST bring your I-9 form and your required documentation to your poll worker training. The trainers will help you finish filling it out. If you have questions, just bring a blank I-9 form and your required documentation to the training and you can complete it there.
